Dear Pastor Torp,

We are honored to invite you to speak during the inaugural conference of the Collegium Intermarium University in Warsaw, Poland.

Collegium Intermarium University, established by Education for Values Foundation, aims to recapture the highest ideals of the university by building an academic community that is rooted in the Western tradition of Western civilization and bound together by common Christian values and patriotism. Please find attached the Mission Statement of the university on a separate page.

The university’s principal area of expertise will be legal education. Law, settled in the historical and cultural context, will be the main undergraduate course, while the postgraduate degree courses will include various specialized juridical and legal aspects, such as forensic sciences, administration of justice, alternative dispute resolution etc.

Education for Values Foundation and Collegium Intermarium are supported by the Ordo Iuris Institute for Legal Culture. Ordo Iuris is Poland’s leading juridical think-tank, which connects leading Polish academics and legal practitioners committed to legal culture, based on traditional, classical values and promotion of human rights.

The main theme of the conference is "Intermarium – space of freedom and order". The event will take place on Friday 28 th May, 2021, in the conference hall located at Krakowskie Przedmieście 66 in Warsaw, Poland. The conference is planned to take place in the form of an international event dedicated to the challenges and changes of the contemporary world and to the values and principles, on which our civilization is based. The conference, on one hand, will focus on different discussion panels in the scope of key political, legal, cultural and heritage topics, on the other, it will emphasize the mission of the new Collegium Intermarium University as a center of ongoing academic research and discourse.

We would like to invite you to speak at the conference and we would be grateful if you could refer in your speech to the role of classical values in the current world.

The conference agenda will include 2-3 keynote speeches and 4 discussion panels:

Panel #1: Academic freedom

Panel #2: Is there a place for classical values in the postmodern world?

Panel #3: Economic integration and regional development of Central European countries

Panel #4: Legal heritage of Western civilization in contemporary world

The conference will be an event with a strong international dimension. We will be hosting speakers from multiple European countries, as well as from the USA, including renowned academics from major US universities and famous Central European politicians. Initial interest in attendance has already been expressed by, amongst others, Vaclav Klaus – former president and prime minister of the Czech Republic, Alejandro Chafuen – managing director of Acton Institute, Gladden Pappin – professor of politics at the University of Dallas, Adrian Vermeule – law professor at Harvard Law School and Francisco Javier Borrego Borrego – former judge of the European Court of Human Rights.

Amongst the panel attendees on the Polish side, we will have representatives of our government, including Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Finance, Tadeusz Kościński, as well as other distinguished statesmen from across the spectrum, intellectual elites and a wide array of journalists.

As an academic institution, our aim is to raise and educate a new generation; that is why three of the youngest members of the Polish government will also be present. Those being Secretary of State Piotr Mazurek, responsible for Youth Affairs, the Deputy Minister of Finance Piotr Patkowski, and the Deputy Minister of Justice Sebastian Kaleta.

In addition to the participation in the conference, we would also like to invite you to an interview for Collegium Intermarium channel. We suggest the recording to take place before the conference, if that is convenient for you.

Your participation in the conference as well as interview with you would be a great honor and privilege for us. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if this would be possible. A complete list of other speakers will be communicated shortly.

We look forward to hearing back from you.
