The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has sentenced Norway in two new cases regarding Norway´s Child Welfare System (Barnevernet), reports Dagbladet´s expert journalist on Barnevernet, Asle Hansen.

In just two years, Strasbourg has sentenced Norway in 13 Barnevernet cases.

The two announcements from the European Court of Human Rights were about 1) enforced adoption, and 2) custody takeover. In both convictions, Norway has breached article 8 in the European Convention of Human Rights: «The Right to Family Life».

In December, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg will make a decision on another case against Norway´s Barnevernet. 25 cases that have been raised against Norway, will reach verdicts in Strasbourg in 2022, and more cases are being raised.
